History

EDM Technologies was established in 1988 by John Cater, an electrical engineer, who had been working in the industry for 8 years as an EDM shop manager. Along with his son, John Cater, Jr., he decided to buy a Wire EDM machine and start an EDM job shop. Today, with 14 EDM machines and over 7000 square feet of work space, EDM Technologies has grown into one on the largest EDM Job Shops in the Southeast. The staff at EDM Technologies is a group of specialists with over 100 years combined EDM experience. Our personnel come from backgrounds in tool & die, mold-making, prototype, and production machining. This knowledge helps to insure that your job will be done by a professional with the appropriate background.
